Kindergarten At Liberty Christian

We believe in providing an education that nurtures the mind, body, and soul. Our faculty and staff are committed to fostering a safe and inclusive learning environment. At LCS, we strive to empower our students to become good leaders, critical thinkers, and lifelong learners! Join us in shaping young minds and building a brighter future for our community!

Our kindergarten serves children who turn 5 by August 1st.

In Bible, we aim to learn more about Jesus, what He did for us, and how we can emulate Him. We do this through Bible memory verses, songs, and interactive lessons. Engaging with Biblical stories and teachings helps students begin establishing and building on their Christian foundations. We strive to help children grow in their faith and deepen their relationship with Jesus!

Math provides children with the fundamental building blocks for logical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Through activities and play-based experiences, students develop a strong number sense that helps solve foundational math equations. Early math education fosters critical thinking, spatial awareness, and the ability to reason. By nurturing a positive attitude towards math from an early age, children gain confidence and develop a solid foundation for their future.

Language arts in kindergarten plays a crucial role in fostering a love for reading, writing, and communication. Through activities such as storytelling, phonics exercises, and vocabulary building, students develop foundational language skills. It also encourages creativity and self-expression, as children explore writing their own stories, drawing pictures, and sharing their ideas with others. By immersing children in a language-rich environment, it lays the groundwork for future language development, critical thinking, and effective communication skills.

Through hands-on experiments, observations, and inquiry-based learning, students develop a fundamental understanding of the natural world and scientific principles. By encouraging students to ask questions, make predictions, and test hypotheses, students become scientifically literate individuals who can understand and engage with the world around them.

Art, music, library, and physical education are essential components of kindergarten education. Art allows children to express their creativity, imagination, and emotions, fostering fine motor skills and visual-spatial awareness.

  • Music education introduces students to rhythm, melody, and harmony, promoting auditory development, self-expression, and an appreciation for different musical styles.
  • The library provides a nurturing environment for early literacy, encouraging a love for reading, storytelling, and expanding vocabulary.
  • Physical education promotes physical fitness, gross motor skills, coordination, and teamwork through active play and structured activities.

Together, these subjects exchange cognitive, social-emotional, and physical development, paving the way for a balanced and enriching education for kindergartners.

*Minds-in-Motion – Minds-in-Motion enables the students to use their brains and bodies simultaneously because there is a connection between learning and moving.

*Weekly Themes – Using weekly themes is a fun way to incorporate reading, writing, science, and history.

*Workshops – Students work on hands-on learning activities both independently and in small groups (Computer, Word Work, Writing, Reading to Self, Reading to Someone, Listening to Reading, Math, Fine Motor Skills)

*Orton Gillingham –  Orton Gillingham is a strategy that builds on sequential steps that involve sensory learning by starting with spelling, writing, and phonics which is the beginning foundation of literacy.

*Development of Public Speaking Skills – This is done by completing two research papers, memory verse recitation, and the Kindergarten Celebration Program where all students have a part to memorize.

*Math – Kindergartners partake in hands-on learning activities with the use of manipulatives and collaboration among student individuals as well as student teams.

*Themed Celebrations – Kindergartners get to enjoy many fun events celebrating and learning about important dates. This includes Thanksgiving, Dr. Seuss, Johnny Appleseed, 100th Day, Happy Birthday Jesus, etc.
